Walking through the deciduous forest, I saw a couple of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus viginianus). This is one of them, a doe in her fall/winter colours.
I tried to get a couple of clear images, and they were either moving too fast or too far away. Of the thirty images I took, this was the best of them.
White-tailed deer are numerous throughout the deciduous forest section of the tour I offer. They're an invasive species, brought to Finland in 1934 from Minnesota (USA).
Currently, there are an estimated 110,000 in Finland.
They're a familiar sight in Nova Scotia, Canada. When I lived there in the 1960s-80s, I became familiar with their habits and ranges. I can't guarantee you'll see one when I guide you through the forests of Helsinki, they're wild animals after all.
However, I can take you to where I know they are and hopefully they'll come walking by to say hello.
